Today I opened up all of the survey results in a spreadsheet and went through and analyzed the results. It took me quite a while as I had over 170 responses and therefore needed to make sure the results that I talked about were representative of all of the results. I used the premade Google Forms graphs for the quantitative answers and listed the main points from the qualitative questions. Now I need to analyze three clips from Edgar Wright movies to talk about in my video essay.
Inform our own idea...
The people who watch all of these shows I have looked at are all different age groups. Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway is one of the shows with the broadest range of people watching, the reason this show is like this because of Ant & Dec and also the show has a big range of content.
The findings suggest that if we go with the Saturday evening, ITV, 7 pm as this is one of the most popular times for viewing TV as a family. At this time people will put the TV on and just watch whatever show is on. For the group, this shows us that we need to make sure that our show doesn't collide with a popular show as everyone would just watch the show. If we did have to show our show at the same time as a popular show we would have to make sure we were appealing to a different target audience.
Based on our idea we now need to research our target audience to find out what they would want from a show, we need to think of ways we can make our show different from others. We need to research what the shows we want to borrow ideas from do and how they are really successful.
Pitch: Production Meeting

Today, we started off by finishing our research portfolio and I was very happy with the final product, I was able to learn so much from the research. After this we got into groups to start preparing the pitch, we spent a while talking which you can hear in the production meeting, we made lots of decisions which was good. We then separated the slides and have given an equal amount to each person to create.
Pitch Evaluation
Pitch
I think this pitch went fairly well and I am really happy with it... compared to my previous pitches I think this time I acted a lot more confidently because I had practised a lot more, and had spent a while making things like the video work well so the timings went perfectly. I think as I looked more confident it conveyed to the audience our idea a lot better. As the whole group acted confidently as well it meant there wasn't any awkward silence or any confusion. The panel liked how our idea was different and they liked the different aspects we had thought about including the competition and the use of social media. The panel said we should clarify a lot more what we were gonna talk about so in the show there won't be any gaps and they also said we need to research the music we use and make sure it is wanted - we will do this through a vox pox to ask people which songs they like. Next, we need to work on the script as this will enable us to see the show on paper and start to visualise what it will be like... we don't want to sound too robotic so we will use the script as a prompt but we will still use it so we know the order.

Today, we started off by each picking 3 different songs to use, we noted down how many seconds the intro is so we could remove that amount of time and add it to the time we are talking. We made sure to select songs we know are popular fit our show. After this, we went through and spent a very long time creating the final planner which is written with the detail of seconds so we could make sure it would be exactly an hour, this took a long time but was helpful cause it showed us that we had planned too many songs. Then I put the information into Excel and created the show clock, which wasn't as straightforward as I expected, but once it was completed I was happy with it.

Today, we started off by learning about how a radio news report is done. After this, we went online and found some articles to talk about, I made sure I could find the article on two websites for added credibility and to make sure I had lots to talk about. Then we sat as a group and wrote the news script which I found much easier than the whole radio show script. Then we did a run through to see how long it would take, this showed us we needed to add an extra news story which would mean that we fill the 2 minutes fully.
